As much as I love Firefox and other alternative Web browsers, most of which are more standards-compliant and more open than even the revamped IE7, I must say that I disagree with having web sites favoring one browser or the other.
This practice, which was widely used in the early days of the web (remember the “best viewed with Internet Explorer messages) was highly criticized by people advocating for standards-compliance and standardization of the web as a whole. So it would be hypocritical, in my opinion, to try to do the same now with yet another browser.
May I ask, what about Opera, Konqueror and Safari, just to name a few of the most used after IE and Firefox? Can you imagine every web site advocating and pushing for their preferred browser?
I advocate for a system similar to that of the YUI library from Yahoo, which categorizes browsers by their abilities and tries to do give the same level of support to all browsers of the same category. (see: http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/articles/gbs/)
Just my two cents.

Ernesto,
I couldn’t agree more with you man. Great points. Seems like we should embrace standards rather than trying to make everyone use our favorite browser. I just get a kick out of taunting IE, I guess. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, bro.
