		<description>Today, I thought I had inadvertently deleted some potentially important files by trashing a softlinked directory -- I thought I was just getting rid of the link, but took the original directory with it.  Panic immediately ensued (these were not my files and wasn&#039;t sure of their value).  Before calming down and realizing that the entire directory was sitting in the GNOME trash, I did some research to find out what recovery options were and came across ext3undel, which is a set of scripts that uses photorec, testdisk, and sleuthkit.  I haven&#039;t toyed with it, yet.  But, I plan to have it available on my openSUSE systems.  (Not sure how difficult it will be to install on SLES, but I might want to have it there, as well.)  You and your readers might find it of some value, as well.  It installs just fine on openSUSE 11.1, once dependencies are met.  Here are some links:
